Le Big Band Caravane has built a reputation as an excellent dance band; be it for specialty events like ballroom or swing dances, but also for corporate events and posh galas. The band can cover all styles of popular music.

Lately, the band is becoming known as a "just as excellent" jazz concert band. It is this versatility that puts Caravane in a class of it's own. Whether it is backing a vocalist, playing a dance band book, or performing in a festival or concert situation, Le Big Band Caravane is sure to impress you.

You will find many titles in our song list here. If you don't find what you are looking for in this list, we can take a limited number of special requests for specific events. Don't hesitate to ask! Check out the four show descriptions on the left and you might find the package you're looking for.

Menu of Stage Shows

We currently offer four separate shows. If you find they do not completely suit your needs, talk with us and we will be pleased to make adjustments.

1. THE BALLROOM SHOW (Next show November 2008- sample ballroom set list)
If you're a ballroom dancer, you owe it to yourself to experience dancing to the sounds of Big Band Caravane. We have vetted our set list with ballroom dance schools and we pay great attention to playing the tempos and rythms you are accustomed too. Throw away those CDs and dance to one of the best ballroom orchestras around.

2. WALL-TO-WALL SWING (Next show April 26, 2008 - sample swing set list)
Swing is what big band is about! In this show Caravane brings you the best music for all styles of swing dancing from the "vintage" sounds of Ol' Blue Eyes, Ella, Count Basie and Buddy Rich to the "modern" sounds of Brian Setzer, Colin James, Lavay Smith and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, among others.

This show suits the swing dance event as well as any other event where you wish to highlight swing music. Think Harlem's Savoy Ballroom in 1930's and 1940's or, even closer to home: Standish Hall Hotel in Hull circa 1940's. How about a vintage dress code or Zoot Suit theme to complement the show!

3. THE "POP" BIG BAND (sample pop set list)
Your favorite "pop" tunes from the past 50 years played Big Band Style. Perfect for "freestyle" dancing. Motown, Funk, R&B, Disco, Swing and Latin styles meet in tunes by the Supremes, Bill Haley and the Comets, Aretha, the Blues Bros and Michael Bublé, among others. This show will suit weddings, corporate events and some galas.

4. THE CONTEMPORARY JAZZ BAND
Caravane's least known face is that of a jazz band. Surprise yourself and hire this exciting band. Enjoy our excellent soloists and great ensemble playing. Music in the styles of Basie, Mintzer, Schneider, Rich, Kenton, Mingus…..You will not be disappointed!
